Thank you so much Olivier! Yes that helps a lot! And thank you once again Marce! That Soundfont link is great! « Last Edit: May 16 th, 2004, 1:35pm by marce » "This message is not intended to make a wall between gold base users and soundfont lovers" PD: if you have a soundblaster or a software synth that accepts midi in, you can use midi output instead of digital ouput to try it. There, you must go to sounds>soundlibrary>collections>Gort's (the wavs that are contained in any sf2 files is imported ok, but sf2 files also have a kind of programation built in that is lost in some cases) If you want some "diffrent" sounds, synthethic, there is a very small soundfonts, "Gort's Synth and filters and extras" that have a lot of one for explore, i dont know how they are imported in melody, but you can try. To use soundfonts by importing them in the Melody/Harmony iinternal softsynth, view the tutorial from the 'Windows>Tutorial" program option: "How to setup a score for playing ? > How to import a sound from a SoundFont file and use it as a custom instrument." To use soundfonts through the sound card internal synth, please read the article in the "shared experience" section: I haven't had this much fun in years! It's so easy to enter the notation (actually easier than playing it in via MIDI and requantizing everything). I really like exploring unusual effects as opposed to GM, that's why I wanted to import SF2s. I'm just beginning to explore softsynths, so it may be a while before my system can really show off how nice the Myriad patches are (I did download the GMsebase but I think I need some better PC speakers). But I needed a lead sheet generator and Melody is awesome for that! I'm kinda spoiled, I've been playing live on my Roland D50 for years cuz all the multi-timbral synths just don't seem to have the depth. Hi Sylvain! I just started looking actually. Linktree: VS languages, my scripts, my bands, my performances. HA+HQ+VS+PdfToM, Reaper+Audiveris+Transcribe, Win10+Focusrite Scarlet 4i4+Nord Electro 3 I've never find really complete good soundfonts. If you cant locate the "instrument dialog box" see at the left of any staff, a icon with a little keyboard is what you must pushĭid you find really good (and free or not expensive) soundfonts ? Kindergarden music teacher (yeah, i work with the big ones I think there is a tutorial about this, but i cant find it, maybe Didier or Olivier can locate it. Instrument dialog box, check "user defined sound", a waveform will be displayed, then see at bottom a menu called "Action", there choose "Import sound", a box where you can choose your sf2 will appear, select what you want, and then select the samples of the sf2 you will use. SouthAmerican Folk Music & Classic Music, Worship "Mais les yeux sont aveugles il faut chercher avec le coeur" - Antoine St. ![]() I have tried all the different import functions, but they only import SF2s as a regular track, not an instrument file. ![]() I love this Melody Assistant! Wonderful price too! Just got one question - I want to use a different instrument set than the GMBase which comes with MA, preferably SF2 files. ![]() Topic: How to use SF2 files as staff instruments?
